Check on Your Black Friends Initiative

V.O.Y.C.E.’s Check on Your Black Friends (COYBF) Initiative began with an dream.

Birthed out of pure necessity in 2020, the need to educate, advocate and take action in communities of color was a dire need. Civil and human rights violations were taking place across the country, organizing and protests taking place nationally and COYBF’s since has served as a bridge to programming and access to understanding civic engagement , allyshiip, quality of life, empowerment and social impact to diverse communities. The COYBF initiative utilizes the 5 pillars of V.O.Y.C.E. to produce programming such as workshops and the Juneteenth in Queens festival for diverse populations and generations, across the city of New York.

Programs include:

  • Mind Your Business Series

  • Juneteenth in Queens

  • Meanwhile Black in Queens Campaign

  • + more.
